Seeds of dis-ease (residual feelings: vasana) &how to release them through yoga

This post is from Amy Wheeler, a yoga therapist in Larry Payne’s Loyola Marymount program….

“Today I observed 3 individual consultations at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in India. One for Bells Palsy, a second for depression and obesity and a third for trigger finger. What I learned today was that all of our “uncooked” vasanas (residual feelings left over after an event) turn into vata or fear in our bodies. These uncooked feelings are the seeds of dis-ease (literally). What are some of the best ways to cook emotions? Pranayama and chanting and doing some small simple movements. …”   Need pranayama/chanting?  We have it @ The Practice for you to enjoy:  Fri. Aug 12/Tuesday, August 30th!!  See below…

~~ Please Join us on Fri. Aug 12th for Full Moon Kirtan   7:30 pm to 9:30
Sasha Cole is hosting the event and will lead the Kirtan –

Come celebrate the full moon with us! Dance, sing and play along to a mix of Kirtan music & some classical cover songs performed by Sasha Cole & Friends. If you aren’t familiar with kirtan, it is a call and response style of music born of the Bhakti Yoga tradition. This is not just a musical concert, but also a meditation. In kirtan we combine our voices, minds, hearts, and breath with music to build an ecstatic energy virtually impossible to duplicate. There is no line between band and audience, as we become all one entity with the vibrations.
No prior singing experience is necessary. Feel free to bring your drums, shakers, tambourines and chimes too! Lyric sheets will be provided for those who would like to sing along. This is a family and kid friendly event. A light, healthy spread of food will be provided.

There is a suggested donation of $10 – $20. It helps to pay for space rental, equipment, and the ability to keep providing this experience for those who want it. However, PLEASE come regardless of your financial situation. That’s why it is a donation based event. Give with your heart what you can. Hope to see you there in the bhav!

Om Shanti! ♥
